If your sensor returned from repair, please follow this checklist to get it back to work:
- ESSENTIAL: It is highly likely, that the calibration of your device changed. Maybe, there was even an exchange of a camera or similar. Therefore, the new configuration file delivered on the USB key accompanying your device absolutely needs to replace the old cfg. file in the directory C:\Program Files\imagine optic\Configuration Files or similar (depending on your installation settings).
- Every repaired device comes with a sheet called "Important Notice". It lists the actions required to get your device back into service. Please follow the recommended steps.
- This is a good point to check whether your software is still up-to-date. Compare your installed version with this list.
- There's no point in using an older version. It is not supported either.
- Sometimes there's more than one version number that matters. In most cases you'll want to compare the version of WaveSuite you used for installation last time with the list above. This is the installer which will install the correct drivers and software according to the licenses encoded in the configuration file accompanying the device.
- If you want to update a custom build of our software please contact support@imagine-optic.com for advice.
- If in doubt please re-install your software in case of WaveSuite (WaveView, WaveKit, WaveTune).
- If the device was delivered with an interface card, did you install this card?
- Many of our sensors interfaced with USB3.0, Ethernet, or FireWire use this connection to its limits. The third party drivers we employ sometimes only work reliably with certain chipsets. That's why we include those interface cards with some types of our sensors.
- If your PC already comes with a native port, you can try to use it. Chances are that it might work. However, our support services only help to troubleshoot an installation using the interface card we supplied.
- If the native port doesn't work, try the interface card and reinstall the software completely.
- If your device worked on this PC using a native port before, it might require the interface card now, because of a change of hardware or software.
- Do you have the manual at hand? Follow the installation instructions.
- There are usually two manuals, one about using the software (reading it is important to correctly interpret results).
- The other manual is specific to the device you use. It contains a procedure to follow step by step to install the drivers needed to interface with the hardware. It is unlikely to get the device running with following this procedure.
- If there was a previous version of our software installed:
- In case of HASO v3.1.1, you'll absolutely need to de-install it and any other software module from Imagine Optic.
- In case of HASO v3.0.9 or earlier, you'll absolutely need to de-install it and any other software module from Imagine Optic.
- WaveView and HASO v3.0.12 can coexist.
- Updating with WaveSuite usually works without de-installing the older version first.
- If you're installing WaveKit, please note that this is currently (as of 2016-03-23) specified as compatible to Win7 32bit only.
- This specification is what we currently support.
- Usually wavKit still works on a Win7 64bit machine, but only if you're using exclusively software compiled for 32bit. For example you can install Matlab 32bit on Win7 64 machine and use WaveKit.
- This check list assumes:
- You connected all cables etc. correctly.
- You don't have an aggressive antivirus program or firewall blocking our software (Ethernet device are suceptible to be blocked by a firewall). Temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus program.
- There's an FAQ for some types of sensors on the website. If you can find your sensor, please contact support@imagine-optic.com transmitting your serial number, so that we can enable access.
