Wavefront sensors
(This applies in particular to HASO3 128 GE, HASO3 128 GE2, HASO3 76 GE, HASO4 GE BB)
The specification of our GiGe compatible sensors requires a direct connection between the sensor and card with IntelPro1000 chipset.
The use of a network switch is most probably possible but we cannot give any guaranties that this will work well, because
a) we have no way of knowing about the other traffic (by the way, use a network switch, not a hub)
b) and the 3rd party driver we use specifies the need for this direct link.
We simply cannot test other configurations. Feel free to report any other configuration that worked for you as a comment below this article.
But again, we'll not guarantee anything beyond Intel Pro 1000 and a direct link.
Good to know
Activate jumbo packets in the settings of your network card!
PCIe x1 doesn't work! Even if the card fits. This type of slot does not have enough bandwidth (at least not for all computers). Use PCIe x4 or larger! Otherwise you'll see a time out (timeout) error.
